Location

Soar is on the South West Coastal Path and is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty,

with Soar Mill Cove and its wonderfully sandy beach just a fifteen minute walk away down a very quiet lane.

South Sands beach is approx 1.5 miles away with Salcome Town some 3 miles distant. Visitors to the cottage have free use of the South Sands Ferry which is owned by us and runs every half hour from the beach to Salcombe town centre.

Malborough village is 1.5 miles away where there is a general store with a bakery, post office and two pubs.

Salcombe Town has everything a holidaymaker could wish for. Four pubs and at least seven first class restaurants including several that cater for families. Many specialise in locally caught seafood. There is a ferry service to the lovely sandy beaches on the opposite side of the estuary and to the market town of Kingsbridge. Boat hire, river trips, water sports, fishing, riding, tennis and golf are all available locally.

The historic towns of Totnes, Plymouth and Dartmouth are within a short drive as are many other attractions, including Dartmoor famous for its torrs and ponies.
